wissahickon creek/fairmont park

we celebrated moz's 5th birthday last week by taking him to the wissahickon creek in fairmont park. i can't believe i've lived in the area for 8 years and this was my first time there! it was so beautiful and the weather was perfect.

flowers: azalea, hosta and gerbera daisy

we had our families over for lunch on mother's day and i made these arrangements as decoration and also as the gifts. i wanted to just use what i had in the garden, hosta and azalea, but the azaleas were looking sad due to the rain we had the days before. instead i bought gerbera daisies to add to the arrangements.

quilt

i finished my first quilt a couple of weeks ago. it was a long, long process, about 5 months. and as you can see from the pumpkins, i started it in the fall. i have to admit most of that time was spent not working on the quilt. when i finally started up again it was done in no time.
i just made a basic quilt out of squares of fabric. the striped fabric was leftover from using it in the living room to make valences. i think it is just fabulous, flaws an all, and matches the living room quite nicely.

pets

so we have two pets, moz and punch. they are the cutest. as i type this moz, the dog, scolded punch the cat. he was going to pull his claws on the couch, as he loves to do, and moz barked at him and then ran up to him. punch stopped in his tracks. what an enforcer. i'm sure that doesn't happen when we're not home.
